ABOUT ME

Firstly a warm welcome, whether you are an individual seeking counselling, or whether you are wanting sessions with a partner or family member.

If this is your first experience in reaching out for counselling, it could be that you feel unsure of what to expect. In our sessions I will encourage you to develop a clear and unique perspective on the areas of your life that you bring to our sessions. I will offer a non-judgmental space, nurturing self-awareness, and I will be interested to learn about your experiences, your perceptions, and your responses to events, in the here and now.

I trained in Gestalt - which is a humanistic, holistic model of Therapy. One way to understand Gestalt Therapy is to see a person and their experiences as a whole, made up of many parts. And so rather than isolating these many parts from one another, striving to see how they all make up one whole i.e everything is connected. In my practice I do also draw upon a range of other therapeutic models, however at the heart of my approach I will be working relationally, which means that the here and now relationship between myself as the therapist and you as my client is kept in mind and attended to.

I hold the following qualifications / Accreditations:
BACPM – A registered member with full accreditation
Diploma in Higher Education – Gestalt and Humanistic Counselling
Certificate, level 3 - Gestalt Counselling Skills
Certificate in Couples Counselling - Integrative Level 3
Certificate, working with children - Gestalt
I am regularly updating my CPD (Continuous Professional Development) by attending trainings and workshops such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex Trauma, Suicide, Anger, Child Protection, Attachment, Creative writing in therapy, and Parenting.
I have regular clinical supervision to support my practice, with 2 registered and accredited supervisors.

It all starts by learning how to focus on what you want.
